Casa Defrà Bianco Superiore Colli Berici DOC 2018
Casa Defrà (the house of brothers) has been delivering spectacular Venetian wines for 4 generations. Today, they have expanded to include more than 2,000 vine-growers in their territory with the goal of having better control over the quality of the grapes they use and to create more value along the supply chain, resulting in wines that are well-reviewed and awarded but at excellent values.
What a beautiful blend! Always searching for the best quality at the best value, Casa Defra has blended the better-known varietals Chardonnay and Sauvignon with the lesser known Garganega. The grapes are manually harvested and soft pressed with fermentation occurring without maceration at a controlled temperature below 20°C and in the presence of selected yeasts. The wine is then aged in stainless steel barrels, which impart no additional flavors (so this wine will never be oaky or buttery). The resulting wine is a translucent, pale yellow with refreshingly fruity and fragrant aromas. The mouthfeel is soft, wide, round and well-balanced. We recommend pairing with Risotto with radicchio, walnuts and parmesan or a white sauce pizza.
