Cantina di Solopaca Aglianico Carrese Riserva “Selezione Oro” 2016
The winemaker states that the name “Carrèse” comes from the Italian word for “wagon” or craftsmen who build wagons and “is a tribute to all those artisans (the master wheelwrights) who, with their art, their passion and dedication to their native land, create real works of art for our Grape Festival, an allegory of our true art, that of making wine”.
The grapes for Cantina di Solopaca Aglianico Carrese are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The maceration phase has an average duration of 21 days. The wine is then aged in large Slavonian oak barrels and subsequently in tonneau for a period of 24 months.
The color is intense ruby red with a nose that is complex with pleasant hints of ripe red fruit and jam with notes of spices. The taste is enveloping; complex with a good persistence that is pleasantly tannic.
We recommend pairing with red meats and game.
